Free online teleprompter
Autocue in your browser: paste your script, press Start and read at your own pace. With mirror mode, camera recording and live speed control. Nothing to install, no sign-up, no watermarks.
Quick guide
How to use the teleprompter in 4 steps
- Type or paste your script into the black panel. It saves automatically in your browser, so you can close the tab and pick up later.
- Adjust speed and font size. If you plan to record yourself, turn on the camera; if you use physical teleprompter hardware, enable mirror mode.
- Press Start. The text goes full screen with a 3-second countdown and begins scrolling on its own. The red mark on the edge shows your reading line.
- Control everything without touching the mouse: space to pause, arrow keys to speed up or slow down, and Esc to exit when you finish.
Recording
Record yourself while you read — without uploading anything
Turn on the camera and your image appears right above the reading line, keeping your eyes as close to the lens as possible. Press Record when you are ready and Stop when you finish: the video is available instantly, ready to download.
Unlike most similar tools, recording here is processed entirely on your device using the browser's native technology. Your video and your script never touch a server: no accounts, no cloud, nobody else seeing your footage.
Great for
YouTube, TikTok and Instagram videos, online courses and lectures, company presentations, speeches and weddings, product videos and recorded interviews. Any situation where you want to look at the camera without memorizing your lines.
Hardware
Mirror mode for physical teleprompters
If you own a glass beam-splitter teleprompter, the text has to be flipped horizontally so it reads correctly in the reflection. Enable mirror mode before starting, or pressM at any point while reading. Place your phone or tablet under the glass, adjust the font size until it is comfortable at camera distance, and you have a professional autocue without paying for software.
Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts
Keyboard control lets you fix your pacing without cutting the take — essential when you record alone.
| Space | Pause and resume scrolling |
| ↑ / ↓ | Raise or lower the speed live |
| M | Toggle mirror mode |
| Esc | Exit full screen |
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is this online teleprompter really free?
Yes. Every feature you see — auto-scroll, mirror mode, keyboard shortcuts and camera recording — is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no time limit.
Are my videos or my script uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser: your script is stored locally on your device and recordings are processed with your own camera hardware. Nothing leaves your computer or phone.
Does it work on mobile and tablet?
Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile. Tablets are especially handy combined with a stand or a glass beam-splitter teleprompter rig.
Can I use it with physical teleprompter hardware?
Yes. Turn on mirror mode and the text flips horizontally so it reads correctly when reflected in the teleprompter glass. You can toggle it at any time with the M key.
What scroll speed should I use?
It depends on your speaking pace, but 50–70 pixels per second with 48 px text is a good starting point. Do a test pass and fine-tune with the arrow keys without stopping the scroll.
Is it spelled teleprompter, telepronter or telepromter?
"Teleprompter" is the correct spelling, though "telepronter" and "telepromter" are common variants people search for. It is also known as an autocue or simply a prompter — all names for the screen that scrolls your script while you speak to camera.
